Who We Are
Kinetik Performance and Rehab, located in Mission Viejo, California, was founded by two like-minded Doctors of Physical Therapy by the name of AJ Kirkpatrick and Kevin Kapka who are committed to helping people reach their peak performance in life.
AJ Kirkpatrick, PT, DPT
Owner, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. AJ Kirkpatrick PT, DPT is a graduate from the longest running Physical Therapy program in the country – Chapman University. Through the Chapman University research program, AJ has been involved in many research studies, one of which includes the study “Comparison of Three Treadmill Training Procedures For Persons With Knee Osteoarthritis,” which has helped shape his extensive understanding of the knee joint. AJ’s strong points of emphasis include sports, general orthopedics, chronic pain and post-surgical conditions. AJ has a passion for lending a helping hand to people whose lives have been halted by pain and dysfunction. He enjoys the process of teaching people how to be their best self by breaking through the barrier of pain to reach above and beyond their own personal goals. In order to do this, he utilizes many techniques which include hands on soft tissue mobilizations, joint mobilizations, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercises, functional movement biomechanical re-training, just to name a few, tailored to each individual’s presentation, needs, goals, and anatomy.

AJ grew up locally where he is a Tesoro High School graduate and has the pleasure of calling southern Orange County his home. He has a passion for all things athletics with emphasis towards football, basketball, and snowboarding which he enjoys in his spare time. AJ has endured his fair share of injuries throughout his athletic career and fully understands the difficulties of being forced away from the activities he loves. Although, he has grown up through sports, his true passion lies in seeing his patients overcome their physical, mental, and emotional barriers to become the best version of themselves through the rehabilitation process.
